Angels Camp, CA...The City of Angels is located in California’s Gold Country within the Sierra Nevada Foothills. The City of Angels, which was founded in 1848 and incorporated in 1912, is rich in gold rush history and traditions which contribute to the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. As the only incorporated City in Calaveras County, the City of Angels provides a full range of services under a City Council-City Administrator form of government with a current annual operating budget of $15.2 million dollars. Planning for Angels Camp's Future, David Hanham Addresses ACBA Meeting. ~By John Hamilton

Angels Camp, CA...The future of the Angels Camp area took center stage last night at Camps. The City's planning director David Hanham gave an overview of the upcoming planning and development issues facing the City. It was a good sized crowd on hand for the meeting. One of the items of discussion was the new McDonalds coming to Frog Jump Plaza. Director Hanham hopes that they will be selling Big Macs by October. One of the interesting items to come out of the Q&A portion of the meeting was that in Hanam's view many retailers view McDonalds as a bellwether or an indicator of a markets readiness to sustain additional development....

The meeting is open to the public though you should RSVP at www.CalaverasC4L.com or by calling 209-298-3033. He will speak from 5:30-7:00pm. There is No Cost to Attend. $6 for those who choose to eat. "Lt. Kuntz will speak about his vision for the Sheriff's Office and public safety in Calaveras County. He'll also address issues related to our constitutionally guaranteed rights and the role of the Sheriff in protecting them. A question and answer session will follow his remarks. Angels Camp, CA....The Angels Camp Museum Foundation is sponsoring a Valentine’s Dinner and Auction, to be held in the Museum Carriage House on Sunday, February 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. The event features a delicious dinner provided by Lia and Sage Bakery & Catering Company of Murphys. Dinner includes appetizers, baby spinach salad, herb encrusted pork loin parmesan potatoes gratin, French green beans with mushrooms, fresh bakery bread, chocolate and red velvet cupcakes, coffee, and local wines. Big Trail Plans Highlight City Council Meeting ~By John Hamilton

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council Meeting was filled with business and community friendly items Tuesday night. One that has enormous potential to burnish Angels Camp's reputation of being the "Launching Pad" for Mountain Biking and Hiking activities is a proposed trail plan along Angels Creek. The proposed trail now in the preliminary planning phases would run for 4 1/2 miles along the creek and it would have an even larger impact if it could tied into the trail system at New Melones. The City Council chose RRM Design Group from Oakdale to prepare the plans. There was almost unanimous consent from Council that this project will..

The Calaveras County Fairgrounds will be hosting a "Dress Swap" March 14 from 1p.m.- 5 p.m. We are encouraging women and high school girls to bring their lonely formal wear that is hanging in their closet to the Fairgrounds. There are four options, you can buy, sell, donate or swap. It is our hope to have great turnout. It is an opportunity to get a dress for prom or even the Miss Calaveras competition or those of us that are just looking for a cocktail dress or bridal .....
