The meeting will call to order at 1pm and immediately adjourn to a Closed Session for Employee Evaluations. On April 9, 2010 at approximately 1215 hours, Angels Camp Police officers made a vehicle stop in the 400 block of N Main St for a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver and passengers of the vehicle the officer observed signs of intoxication. After further investigation the driver Nathan James Akers, 27 of Tuolumne was arrested for DUI and passenger Clarence Gaylon Lavell III, 25 of Tuolumne was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.....

Frogtown, USA....The young ladies who are running for Miss Calaveras or Saddle Queen will be joining Miss Calaveras 2009, Kayla Smith and, Saddle Queen 2009, Catheryn Gulizia, and their respective courts as the featured guests at this years Coronation Ball to be held on associated with the Fair. The Angels-Murphys Rotary, long a dedicated sponsor of the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant, will again be manning the no-host bar. The 11th annual Calaveras Earth Day Celebration is coming up fast. It will be on May 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Utica Park, Angels Camp. This will be a good chance for everyone to see and talk with many service organizations, hear great local musicians, and sample our very own Aimee's Kitchen organic food. See and hear candidates for local office, and take the opportunity to talk to them personally. Enjoy local dancers, the Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth & Families kids zone, and browse through tables set up by local vendors. ....

Angels Camp, CA....More than two dozen spectacular carnival rides are expected to descend upon Frogtown May 13 through May 16 when a new carnival promoter arrives for the 81st annual Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Perennial favorites – the Zipper, Gravitron, Tornado and Silver Streak – will be joined by a ride new to the fair: The Super Shot. If you like The Drop Tower Scream Zone at California’s Great America in Santa Clara then you’ll love The Super Shot. Paul Maurer Shows, of Huntington Beach, CA, was chosen by the fair’s board of directors based upon the company’s safety record, clear inspections from Cal-OSHA and the company’s willingness to offer special discounts to county residents. “I was impressed that every employee performs a daily check-off inspection of their ride before the gates are opened,” said Stephen Kautz, fair board president.....

Angels Camp, CA.....58 Calaveras County students have applied to be members of the 2010 Calaveras County Junior Fairboard Committee. These students are all returning participants or first-time junior and senior high school students. Scholarships are awarded to two of these lucky students based on a vote by the Board of Directors of the scholarship applications submitted. ....
