Angels Camp Male Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Petty Theft and Trespassing~Press Release

On April 6, 2010 at approximately 2218 hours, Angels Camp Police officers interrupted a theft of gasoline in progress at the Greenhorn Creek Golf Course maintenance yard. Officers arrived and found several large gas cans and a garden hose coming from a large fuel tank. Officers subsequently located and arrested David Anthony Gamblin, 46 of Angels Camp and Brett Lane Webber, 54 of Angels Camp hiding behind a nearby shed. Both men made statements regarding their involvement in the theft....

On April 9, 2010 at approximately 1215 hours, Angels Camp Police officers made a vehicle stop in the 400 block of N Main St for a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver and passengers of the vehicle the officer observed signs of intoxication. After further investigation the driver Nathan James Akers, 27 of Tuolumne was arrested for DUI and passenger Clarence Gaylon Lavell III, 25 of Tuolumne was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.....

The 11th annual Calaveras Earth Day Celebration is coming up fast. It will be on May 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Utica Park, Angels Camp. This will be a good chance for everyone to see and talk with many service organizations, hear great local musicians, and sample our very own Aimee's Kitchen organic food. See and hear candidates for local office, and take the opportunity to talk to them personally. Angels Camp, CA....More than two dozen spectacular carnival rides are expected to descend upon Frogtown May 13 through May 16 when a new carnival promoter arrives for the 81st annual Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Perennial favorites – the Zipper, Gravitron, Tornado and Silver Streak – will be joined by a ride new to the fair: The Super Shot. If you like The Drop Tower Scream Zone at California’s Great America in Santa Clara then you’ll love The Super Shot. Paul Maurer Shows, of Huntington Beach, CA, was chosen by the fair’s board of directors based upon the company’s safety record, clear inspections from Cal-OSHA and the company’s willingness to offer special discounts to county residents. “I was impressed that every employee performs a daily check-off inspection of their ride before the gates are opened,” said Stephen Kautz, fair board president.....
