"Fun For The Whole Herd" was announced as the theme For 2014 Calaveras Fair and Frog Jump Jubilee at the Volunteer - Staff Appreciation Mixer on Friday at the "Ranch House" at Frogtown. The Calaveras County Fair Board of Directors and the Friends of the Calaveras County Fair hosted the event. Now that the theme has been announced plans will start gelling and getting in place for the 2014 fair..

Angels Camp, CA.... Today is the day. Pack up the family and head down to Historic Angels Camp for a day of family fun. There are activities at the Museum, Utica Park, and Historic Main Street (Hwy 49). You will find crafts, unique gifts and services, great food, local wines, historic encampment and a variety of entertainment. Coming from south of Angels Camp park at the Fairgrounds and take the shuttle. Folks coming from the north should park at Bret Harte High School and catch the shuttle there. Chester, Moose & Zeus Are Waiting For You |

San Andreas, CA...Chester is a gorgeous chocolate Labrador mix and is about 2 years old. Chester is one of those great dogs that wants to bond with his own special person who will teach him how much fun the world can be. If you are looking for a friend who will love and adore you, Chester is a must see. Chester will have to be neutered before going home with you. Moose is a 10 month old, 88 pound, untrained lab and maybe mastiff mix. So this is the typical knucklehead pup, with no manners, lumbers around and can knock you over (but honestly does not mean it) and slobbers all over. Could pull a sled of people all around because he is so strong but again, he is a 10 month old, totally untrained lab pup who is totally appropriately named. So if you have the time, energy, strength and love to give Moose come on down to the shelter and have a look at him. Moose has tons of potential in the correct home. He needs to be neutered ,before going home with you.

Fire Report...1/2 Acre Fire Near Communication Towers on Fowler Peak |

Angels Camp, CA....A worker was grinding and working on supports of one of the many radio towers on Fowler Peak yesterday. This resulted in the vegetation fire that burned about 1/2 acre. Additional details are enclosed....
