Washington, DC...Hi, everybody. Every day, we get thousands of letters and emails at the White House from Americans across the country – and every night, I read ten of them. They tell me about their hopes and their worries, their hardships and successes. They’re the Americans I’m working for every day – and this year, several of these letter writers will join me at the Capitol when I deliver my annual State of the Union Address on Tuesday night.

Washington, DC... Hi, everybody. About a year ago, I promised that 2014 would be a breakthrough year for America. And this week, we got more evidence to back that up. In December, our businesses created 240,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate fell to 5.6%. That means that 2014 was the strongest year for job growth since the 1990s. In 2014, unemployment fell faster than it has in three decades.

Tops on the consent agenda is to Ratify Claim Summary #514 Secretarial Fund in the Amount of $1,120,966.92. Director Mills will also lead a discussion of the Draft Calaveras County General Plan. | Today, Members of the California State Board of Equalization (BOE), the nation’s only elected state tax board, begin new four-year terms of office in districts that have been renumbered and redefined by boundary changes. In 2011, the California Citizens Redistricting Commission drew new district boundaries for the Assembly, Senate, BOE, and Congress based upon 2010 federal census data. The new boundaries for the BOE districts became effective January 1, 2015.... |
