Toad Habitat Meadow Restoration on Summit Ranger District Could Cause Traffic Congestion

Strawberry, CA...Stanislaus National Forest announced that contractors with heavy construction equipment will be on Forest Road 4N12, Herring Creek Road, as they undertake meadow restoration work. The contractor will begin staging construction equipment in late July, which may include excavators, backhoes, loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks. Work is expected to begin in early August and be complete by mid-October. While most work will occur between Monday and Friday, some work may happen on weekends as well, according to Tracy Weddle, Stanislaus National Forest hydrologist and project manager. Sacrameto, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom signed today legislation requiring candidates for U.S. President and California Governor to disclose their income tax returns in order to appear on California’s primary ballot. SB 27, by Senator Mike McGuire (D-Healdsburg) and Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), requires a candidate for U.S. President or California Governor to file copies of every income tax return filed with the Internal Revenue Service in the five most recent taxable years with the Secretary of State, at least 98 days prior to the corresponding primary election.

Gross Domestic Product, Second Quarter 2019 (Advance Estimate) and Annual Update

Washington, DC....Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 2.1 percent in the second quarter of 2019 (table 1), according to the "advance" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 3.1 percent. The Bureau's second-quarter advance estimate released today is based on source data that are incomplete or subject to further revision by the source agency (see "Source Data for the Advance Estimate" on page 2). The "second" estimate for the second quarter, based on more complete data, will be released on August 29, 2019.
