Calaveras Public Health Reports 7 New Cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed seven additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. COVID-19 cases include three males between 0-17 years of age, one female and one male between 18-49 years of age, one female between 50-64 years of age, and one female over the age of 65. District 2 has two cases to report, four cases in District 3, and one case in District 4. There are no new cases to report in the remaining Districts.
State Parks Announces Recommendations for $5.6 Million in Local Recreational Trail Projects

Sacramento, CA...California State Parks today announced recommendations for $5.6 million in funding for eight local non-motorized trail projects under the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Recreational Trails Program (RTP). Funding from this program helps improve the quality of life for the nation’s communities by providing access for all to the outdoors.
California Court Ruling Declares Newsom Violates Constitutional Power

Sacramento, CA...Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement after a California Superior Court Judge issued a tentative ruling declaring Governor Newsom has violated the Constitution. The ruling is in response to a lawsuit filed by Republican lawmakers Kevin Kiley and James Gallagher which challenged Governor Newsom’s ‘one-man rule’ and abuse of power. The ruling states that there is good cause for a permanent injunction restraining the Governor from issuing any more unconstitutional orders. Media can click here to read the ruling.

Sacramento, CA...Over 4,600 firefighters continue to battle 22 wildfires in California. Yesterday, firefighters responded to 37 new wildfires, all of which were quickly contained. As favorable weather remains, firefighters are gaining the upper hand on these fires with containment numbers increasing.
