District Three Candidates Night At Sequoia Woods |

Arnold, CA...With a focus on economic development, candidates for County Supervisor in District 3 will assembled for a questions and answers session at the Sequoia Woods Country Club in Arnold on Tuesday May 6. Candidates for other county races opened the event for the first half hour, followed by a one-hour Q&A session for the county supervisor contenders. This event began at 6:00 PM with meet and greet hour. The Q&A sessions begin at 7:00 PM and the EDC's Bob Doten kept the event on schedule and moving. You can watch the debate below in your browser or save the video to your device for listening or watching off line. Hathaway Pines, CA...Thanks, to those who attended the Candidates night at Bret Harte last week. It was a small crowd, but a lot of candidates were there. You can watch the video on the Pine Tree. The fourth and final Candidate Forum will be held on May 6th at Sequoia Woods Country Club in Arnold from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Thanks to the Calaveras County Economic Development Company for sponsoring the event. I have been “hitting the streets” lately and have met some outstanding folks and have shared some very interesting stories. I look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks...

Year’s Final Snow Survey Comes up Dry |

Sacramento, CA...Today’s final snow survey of the year found more bare ground than snow as California faces another long, hot summer after a near-record dry winter. Today’s manual and electronic readings recorded the statewide snowpack’s water content –which normally provides about a third of the water for California’s farms and cities -- at a mere--18 percent of average for the date. Just as telling was the April 1 survey that found water content at only 32 percent of average at the time of year it normally is at its peak before it begins to melt into streams and reservoirs with warming weather....

San Andreas, CA...With a focus on Law and Justice, Candidates for Sheriff and the two Superior Court Benches gathered for a questions and answer session at the San Andreas Town Hall on April 29. Two half-hour sessions for the judicial candidates were followed by a Q&A session for the Sheriff contenders. The evening started off with a meet and greet hour and the main event started at 7pm. The even provided an expanded look at those vying for the Benches in the Calaveras County courts...
