Calaveras County is Seeking Community Input on Parks Master Plan

San Andreas, CA...Outdoor spaces and amenities for all ages are valuable and essential to Calaveras County. In September of 2023 Calaveras County contracted with O’Dell Engineering to create the County’s first Parks Master Plan. A Parks Master Plan provides an abundance of benefits to a community including, but not limited to; assessing current and future recreation needs of the community, establishing a long-range vision, prioritizing capital improvement projects, strategizing to fill gaps and reduce redundancies within the parks systems, building community support, promoting new ideas and partnerships, and encouraging new opportunities for future development.

San Andreas, CA...Results are updated! The final results will be posted by April 4, 2024, on the Calaveras County Elections webpage. You can view by searching Calaveras County Elections and then clicking on the Election Results icon. There are roughly 300 ballots to be counted. We will continue counting ballots postmarked by Election Day through March 12, 2024.
Governor Newsom Streamlines More Than 1,500 New Homes

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he took action to accelerate a housing project in downtown Los Angeles that, if ultimately approved, is expected to deliver more than 1,500 new homes, office space and retail all centrally located near transit and jobs. The 10-building project is anticipated to pump $2 billion into the California economy and create up to 10,000 union jobs.

State OHV Grant Comment Period Website Now Available

Sonora, CA...Following up with the solicitation of comments for the pending State OHV grant program, the web-based comment portal is now open through May 6, 2024. Stanislaus National Forest recreation specialists and OHV managers have completed three draft grants for consideration by the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division.
