Washington, DC...On Thanksgiving Day, as we have for nearly four centuries, Americans give thanks to Almighty God for our abundant blessings. We gather with the people we love to show gratitude for our freedom, for our friends and families, and for the prosperous Nation we call home. It is also time for turkey pardoning. The two turkeys, Drumstick and Wishbone, participating in this year's National Thanksgiving Turkey Pardoning Ceremony have arrived in Washington, D.C. from Western Minnesota!
Washington, DC...Good morning. We just returned from a historic 12-day trip to Asia. Everywhere we went, the American delegation was greeted with tremendous hospitality and tremendous respect. People are respecting our country again, believe me. We brought back more than $300 billion worth of deals, which could reach well over a trillion dollars within a very near future. That means jobs for the United States at a very high level.
Stanislaus National Forest Ends Temporary Fire Restrictions in High Hazard Areas

Sonora, CA... The fire restrictions in high hazard areas have been terminated as of Nov. 20, 2017. The Stanislaus National Forest enacted the temporary fire restrictions on July 20. A campfire permit is still required for those camping outside of developed campgrounds and can be obtained at visitor centers or online at www.PreventWildfireCA.org.

They hold more influence over our communities and our Nation than any other structure, so it is incumbent upon us, as a Nation, to strengthen and support them.

Washington, DC...We honor the memory of Sergey Magnitskiy, who died on November 16, 2009, while in custody in a Moscow prison. An investigation by Russia's Presidential Human Rights Council found that Magnitskiy had been severely beaten in prison, and members of the Council said his death resulted from beatings and torture by police officials.
Sacramento, CA...Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued the following statement today regarding the shooting in Tehama County: "Anne and I are saddened to hear about today’s violence in Tehama County, which shockingly involved schoolchildren. We offer our condolences to the families who lost loved ones and unite with all Californians in grief."

San Andreas, CA...California Gubernatorial Candidate Delaine Eastin will be the featured speaker at the Calaveras Democrats monthly meeting on November 13. Meeting time is 6:30 pm at the Calaveras County Public Library in San Andreas, with Eastin scheduled to speak at 6:45. It is recommended to arrive early, as seating is limited. “Calavera County may be small, but we are able to draw some big speakers. We are proud to offer Calaveras voters a chance to hear from Ms. Easton directly,” said Laura Lowell, chair of the Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee.

Copperopolis, CA...West Nile Virus has been detected in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County. On 10/4/12 Calaveras County Public Health Division received confirmation of the first detection of West Nile Virus for 2017 in a chicken from Copperopolis.

Angels Camp, CA...We took The Elevated Evening News™ on the road tonight and streamed live starting at 6 pm from the Bret Harte Theatre. Tonight was a Cannabis Centric Angels Camp City Council Meeting. Audio improved as meeting got underway and the replay now posted...hour three is below and hours two and one enclosed. It was another low key public meeting on Cannabis. Was there yelling? Check. Did someone get ejected? Check. Is Cannabis except for medical personal cultivation still banned within the city? Check. In the end the ban mood carried the day. Cannabis deliveries within city limits will be regulated as well. The problem is however is crafting delivery regulations with almost no way of actually implementing them is a problem. Is essence option two was the decision. We pasted in the regulation of deliveries option from the original options to give you a quick graphic to see the outcome.
