Calaveras County Public Health Issues Heat Advisory to Residents

San Andreas [August 13, 2019] – Calaveras County Health and Human Services Agency - Public Health Division issues a heat advisory for the County. Temperatures of 95 degrees or more will continue over the next several days. Dr. Kelaita, County Health Officer, stated, “Taking action now can prevent the possibility of heat-related illness. Some health conditions such as obesity, fever, dehydration, heart disease, poor circulation, sunburn and drug/alcohol use can make it harder for the body to stay cool in hot weather.”

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he has granted seven pardons. People who have been convicted of a crime in California may apply to the Governor for a pardon. The California Constitution gives the Governor the authority to grant clemency. A pardon does not minimize past conduct; it recognizes a person’s subsequent progress and accomplishments. A pardon does not expunge or erase the conviction.

Washington, DC...So, we’re going to Dayton first, and then we’re going to El Paso. And we’ll be meeting with first responders, law enforcement, and some of the victims, and paying my respects and regards. I’ll be going with the First Lady. And it’s a terrific opportunity, really, to congratulate some of the police and law enforcement. The job they’ve done was incredible. Really incredible.

Washington, DC...Good morning. My fellow Americans, this morning, our nation is overcome with shock, horror, and sorrow. This weekend, more than 80 people were killed or wounded in two evil attacks. On Saturday morning, in El Paso, Texas, a wicked man went to a Walmart store, where families were shopping with their loved ones. He shot and murdered 20 people, and injured 26 others, including precious little children.
