Sacramento, CA...Registered nurses and other healthcare advocates are heralding the California Senate Health Committee's passage of SB 562, the Healthy California Act today, Wednesday, April 26, with a majority of the committee members’ support. SB 562, the Healthy California Act, would establish an improved Medicare for all type system in California. Full details of the bill may be viewed here http://bit.ly/2ng5hUg Prior to the hearing, over a thousand bill supporters, including members of the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, held a spirited rally at the Sacramento Convention Center followed by a colorful march to the State Capitol for the Senate Health Committee hearing.

Its' intent...."It is the purpose and intent of this chapter to prohibit, to the maximum extent allowed under state law, with limited exceptions, the commercial, medical, and recreational cultivation, manufacture, testing, distribution, transportation, and storage of cannabis in order to preserve the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Calaveras County and the environment while retaining the ability of patients to have access to medical cannabis in the County to the extent deemed necessary under state law. USFS Says Mokelumne River Canyon Access Roads Closed Indefinitely Due To Storm Damage

Pioneer, CA...All 3 roads that provide access to the Mokelumne River Canyon are closed indefinitely due to storm damage: Salt Springs Road, Ellis Road, and Panther Creek Road. There is storm damage on all 18 national forests in California with a total of 557 damage sites on forest service roads regionally as of April 5, 2017. There are multiple damage sites on many roads, and the damage is significant in some places. Damage assessment is still in progress and will not be fully known until the snow melts. Pavement Repair On Hwy 88 From Silver Lake Campground To Kirkwood

Amador County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be performing one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 88 from Silver Lake Campground to the Amador/Alpine County line for pavement repair. Work will begin Monday, April 17, 2017, through Friday, April 21, 2017, from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 20-minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
