President Trump at International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/29/2019 09:57 AM
Chicago, IL...Thank you. Thank you, Paul. You’ve been my friend for a long time, but thank you for that introduction. That says it all. You can say it very shortly, but I think there’s nobody that’s ever done more — certainly, in the position of President — for our great police, and it’s an honor to be with you. And, please, sit down. Let’s go have a good time. (Applause.) And, Paul, I want to thank you for nearly four decades of exceptional service in the line of duty.

Calaveras OES's PG&E PSPS Outage Update...Valley Springs, San Andreas, Angels Camp & Copperopolis Up!

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/29/2019 12:10 PM
San Andreas, CA....From the Calaveras Good Morning Calaveras! We have just finished our AM PG&E Briefing and we are starting this morning off on a much better note. The LATEST de-energization time is 4pm today, with a weather All-Clear time of 1am on Wednesday (10-30) We also have an updated outage map, that shows a smaller outage footprint. We've tried to orient this map with some arrows to generally indicate a couple communities; they are rudimentary in nature, and are meant to just assist folks with what the map represents. According to the latest map, Valley Springs, San Andreas, Angels Camp and Copperopolis should NOT be de-energized. For complete details see the map provided in this post. With three of our larger communities being restored, access to fuel, food and other supplies should become easier.

Calaveras County OES, PG&E PSPS Update

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/28/2019 10:46 AM
San Andreas, CA...From Calaveras County OES..."Good morning Calaveras! We just finished the morning briefing, and bring back A LOT of good news! 1) We have received the weather "all-clear" for this current outage, and now that the sun is up, PG&E is out inspecting lines for power restoration! Now, the bad news: this wind event was serious, and we are concerned about being able to restore power completely before tomorrow's outage. What that means is that some of the outlying areas of the county may not be restored before the next outage. Simply put, there are too many moving parts to know whether or not we'll get 100% restoration before tomorrow. PG&E reports 6,000 Employees/Contractors in the field working on restoration.

PG&E's PSPS Outages Send 940,000 Customers & Large Portions of California Into Darkness in Parts of 38 Counties Due to Wind

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/27/2019 07:03 AM
San Francisco, CA...Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has begun de-energization of its electrical lines as part of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). The PSPS event will impact customers in portions of 38 counties in the Northern and Southern Sierra Foothills, the North Bay and Mendocino, the Bay Area, the Central Coast and the Central Valley. This PSPS action is based on forecasts of historic dry, hot and windy weather that poses a significant risk for damage and sparks on the electric system and rapid wildfire spread.

The President on the Death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/27/2019 10:48 AM
Washington, DC...Last night, the United States brought the world’s number one terrorist leader to justice. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead. He was the founder and leader of ISIS, the most ruthless and violent terror organization in the World. The United States has been searching for Baghdadi for many years. Capturing or killing Baghdadi has been the top national security priority of my Administration. U.S. Special Operations forces executed a dangerous and daring nighttime raid into Northwestern Syria to accomplish this mission.

Calaveras County OES, PG&E PSPS Update...

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/27/2019 12:03 PM
San Andreas, CA...Good Morning Calaveras! We just completed the Sunday morning briefing with PG&E. If you woke up without power, you definitely are not alone. PG&E estimates that over 900,000 PG&E customers are without power here in California. No major changes were presented in the AM briefing as far as timing for the weather all clear (still expected about midnight on Monday Morning). Please remember that the PG&E crews have to inspect the lines prior to power restoration, and inspection only happens during daylight hours. Gusts in the North State topped out at 92 MPH, which has led to some non-PSPS related outages. What that means to us is that PG&E crews are also dealing with repairing those lines, in addition to the PSPS work, That said, PG&E's goal is still complete restoration within 48 hours of the all clear. Let's all hope they can achieve their goal.
