A Time to Look Back as We Move Forward. The Federalist Papers Number Eleven by Publius. Introduction by John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/07/2019 11:18 AM
Arnold, CA...Federalist Eleven was written by Alexander Hamilton and is "Concerning Dangers from Dissensions Between the States" and is below our intro and is available in an audio format if you click the image below. In our sharply politically divided country it may be time for us all to look back and reaffirm that our country really is a collection of ideas and ideals. The Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that we all at times take for granted was hard fought and narrowly won. In the end our allegiance is not to a King, Dictator or Strong Man but too each other. One thing the founding fathers all agreed on was that human nature is subject to weakness and they took into account human frailties. They devised a system that has at many times protected us from man's and woman's worst enemy which is the reflection that stares back at us all from the mirror.

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2019 10:33 AM
Arnold, CA...The Ebbetts Pass Fire District (EPFD) Board of Directors is sponsoring “Measure A,” which is a special tax measure that will fund the continued operation of fire, ambulance and paramedic services to the Upper Highway 4 Corridor. The Fire District serves community members who live in the 225-square-mile District along Highway 4 between Forest Meadows and Bear Valley. The EPFD Board of Directors put forth Measure A to address a $400,000 budget deficit the District is currently facing. If Measure A does not pass, fire, ambulance and paramedic services will have to be cut starting July 1, 2019. Eligible voters will receive ballots in the mail in early April and those ballots must be mailed to the Calaveras County Elections Office by May 7, 2019. In order to pass, Measure A must receive a two-thirds majority, meaning 66.67% of voters must vote “Yes”.

President Trump with Former United States Hostage in Yemen, Danny Burch

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2019 10:25 PM
Washington, DC... Thank you very much for being here. We have a very big moment because we have Danny Burch back home, where he should be. He was in Yemen, in a very horrible situation — a captive, a prisoner. You can call him whatever you want, but it wasn’t good. He was there for 18 months — even a little more than 18 months — and we got him out. And we had some great help from UAE and all of our friends. But we got Danny out. And he’s just come home, said hello to his family, his beautiful son. Thank you for being here. And it’s nice to see your father back where he belongs.
