Posted by: thepinetree on 02/27/2019 01:18 PM
South Lake Tahoe, CA...“One of the biggest issues we’ve had this winter is illegally parked cars,” said Ray Jarvis, Public Works Director, “They don’t just delay the snow removal process they’re dangerous for everyone involved.” During the last storm, a snow plow operator hit a completely buried car that was parked in the city easement on Cedar Ave. After digging out the driver side, a 48-year old woman was discovered inside the vehicle. She told SLTPD she had been in the car for 4-5 hours. Thankfully she was ok, but the outcome could have been much worse.

President Trump at 2019 Governors’ Ball

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/25/2019 11:05 AM
Washington, DC...Thank you very much, everybody. This is an honor. Fifty-nine governors. Think of that. But we actually have — we added a few from the islands, so we broke it down to 49. But we love to exaggerate just a little bit. (Laughter.) This has been a — really, a great couple of days. We’ve had a lot of fun together. And it’s been, you know, very special. We’ve gotten to know each other. We’ve gotten to like each other, in almost all cases. Let’s see — one or two cases. Every case, I would say. (Laughter.) Every single case.

A Time to Look Back as We Move Forward. The Federalist Papers Number Nine by Publius. Introduction by John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/25/2019 11:50 PM
Arnold, CA...Federalist Six was written by Alexander Hamilton and is "Concerning Dangers from Dissensions Between the States" and is below our intro and is available in an audio format if you click the image below. In our sharply politically divided country it may be time for us all to look back and reaffirm that our country really is a collection of ideas and ideals. The Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that we all at times take for granted was hard fought and narrowly won. In the end our allegiance is not to a King, Dictator or Strong Man but too each other. One thing the founding fathers all agreed on was that human nature is subject to weakness and they took into account human frailties. They devised a system that has at many times protected us from man's and woman's worst enemy which is the reflection that stares back at us all from the mirror.

President Trump Before Meeting with Vice Premier Liu He of the People’s Republic of China

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/22/2019 07:17 PM
Washington, DC...Thank you very much. It’s a great honor to be with the Vice Premier of China, a very highly respected man in China. And we’re negotiating trade and the trade agreement. And we have many representatives from China and — as you’d know, and most of you know who they are — many representatives from the United States. I think we’re getting along very well. Ultimately, I think the biggest decisions and some even smaller decisions will be made by President Xi and myself. And we expect to have a meeting sometime in the not-too-distant future.
