A Time to Look Back as We Move Forward. The Federalist Papers Number Twelve by Publius. Introduction by John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/12/2019 06:41 AM
Arnold, CA...Federalist Twelve was written by Alexander Hamilton and is "The Utility of the Union In Respect to Revenue" and is below our intro and is available in an audio format if you click the image below. In our sharply politically divided country it may be time for us all to look back and reaffirm that our country really is a collection of ideas and ideals. The Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that we all at times take for granted was hard fought and narrowly won. In the end our allegiance is not to a King, Dictator or Strong Man but too each other. One thing the founding fathers all agreed on was that human nature is subject to weakness and they took into account human frailties. They devised a system that has at many times protected us from man's and woman's worst enemy which is the reflection that stares back at us all from the mirror.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez SXSW 2019 Interview

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/11/2019 09:23 AM
Austin, TX...As New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to galvanize the left (and frustrate the right), what’s driving her unique appeal has become an increasingly compelling question. Is it her identity or her substantive politics? Or both? Ocasio-Cortez's embrace of democratic socialism has been emphasized by the right, which seeks to paint her as out of touch with mainstream American values. But arguably, it's her progressive ideals that provide the basis for a human-centered politics that connect with a majority of Americans.

President Trump Before Marine One Departure to Alabama

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/08/2019 01:53 PM
Washington, DC...Well, the economy is doing very well. We’re seeing wages rise more than they have at any time for a long, long time. Wages are going up first time for many years — I talked about it during the campaign — for over 20 years. So, I’m happy about that. The economy is very, very strong. If you look at the stock market over the last few months, it’s been great. And certainly since my election, it’s up — getting close to 50 percent — the stock market. So, we’re obviously very happy with that.
