Norfolk, VA...Thank you very much, Mark. And you’re doing a fantastic job, and our country appreciates it very much. And thank you, everybody, for being here. Today, I’m deeply honored to be at Naval Station Norfolk — the largest naval base anywhere in the world, and the home to the most powerful fleet that has ever sailed the seas. I just passed some of the most beautiful and, frankly, the most highly lethal ships that I have ever seen in my life, and there are a lot of them. And they’re in better shape now than they have been for many, many decades, with what we’re doing.

London, UK...Hi folks. I want to bring you up to speed on something that’s happening today which is that I’ve developed mild symptoms of the coronavirus. That’s to say – a temperature and a persistent cough. And, on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, I’ve taken a test. That has come out positive. So I am working from home. I’m self-isolating. And that’s entirely the right thing to do.
California State Parks Block Vehicle Access to Additional Parks to Slow Spread of COVID-19

Sacramento, CA... California State Parks announced it is temporarily closing vehicle access to 59 additional state parks and beaches to avoid dangerous visitation surges and help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the total number of state-operated parks and beaches closed to vehicle access to 98. A list of closures can be found online at www.parks.ca.gov/FlattenTheCurve.
Angels Camp, CA...In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the City of Angels has closed public parks within the city limits effective immediately. This closure is in effect until further notice. It is prohibited to use the playgrounds, picnic tables or other park equipment. Restrooms are locked and will remain locked until the parks re-open.
Calaveras Connect Transit Service to Reduce Services During COVID-19 Crisis

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Connect- Reduced Services Effective March 30, 2020, until further notice: Calaveras Connect buses will move to On-Demand service only, with deviations within ¾ mile of normal fixed routes. Transportation will be provided for essential trips only. These service changes are being implemented with regard to the best interest of the public, as it will help riders and employees avoid large crowds, allow for social distancing and aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Calaveras Connect is continuing with increased cleaning and sanitation on all vehicles. These decisions are based on guidance from state health and emergency officials.

This order goes into effect immediately. This order is in place until further notice.

Governor Newsom on Passage of Federal Supplemental Stimulus Bill

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement on the federal supplemental stimulus bill passed today: “The stimulus bill passed today will provide critical support for California to fight COVID-19 and strengthen our hospitals and health care system. It means an additional $600 a week in Unemployment Insurance for the many Californians who have already lost jobs and the many more who will during this crisis, provides emergency loans and grants to help small businesses and non-profits keep people employed, and it provides direct aid to state and local governments so that we can respond to this emergency and aid communities and families during this time.
