Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2020 07:29 AM
Washington, DC...Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 273,000 in February, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 3.5 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Notable job gains occurred in health care and social assistance, food services and drinking places, government, construction, professional and technical services, and financial activities. This news release presents statistics from two monthly surveys. The household survey measures labor force status, including unemployment, by demographic characteristics. The establishment survey measures nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings by industry. For more information about the concepts and statistical methodology used in these two surveys, see the Technical Note.

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/05/2020 11:25 AM
Washington, DC...U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) delivered the following remarks today on the Senate floor regarding the Supreme Court: ‘A few weeks ago, I spoke on this floor about a dangerous trend that threatens our self-government. ‘I explained how some in the Democratic Party appear more interested in attacking the institutions of our government than in working within them. Mike Bloomberg Drops Out of Presidential Race and Endorses Joe Biden

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/04/2020 08:11 AM
New York, NY...Three months ago, I entered the race for President to defeat Donald Trump. Today, I am leaving the race for the same reason: to defeat Donald Trump – because it is clear to me that staying in would make achieving that goal more difficult. I’m a believer in using data to inform decisions. After yesterday’s results, the delegate math has become virtually impossible – and a viable path to the nomination no longer exists. And so while I will not be the nominee, I will not walk away from the most important political fight of my life.
