Las Vegas, NV...(The Hill)..Sen. Bernie Sanders posted a decisive victory in the Nevada caucuses Saturday, cementing his status as the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination by turning out a diverse coalition of voters. The Associated Press called the race for Sanders by 8 p.m. ET. The Nevada win comes after Sanders narrowly defeated former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg in New Hampshire. Sanders and Buttigieg effectively split the delegates haul from the Iowa caucuses earlier this month. Sanders will now move past Buttigieg and take his first delegates lead of the year on Saturday.

In 2016, the voters of the district overwhelmingly elected Dennis to serve them on the Board of Supervisors serving Vallecito, Copperopolis and Angels Camp. Over these years Dennis spent his full time attention on these responsibilities.
