View a copy of the forest order and accompanying map. A 2.7-mile stretch of FR 4N85 received damage in six locations from an area known as the quarry, near the junction of FSR 4N88, to Sand Bar Flat Campground, a small, 10-unit recreation facility located on the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River. Sacramento, CA...California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and New York Attorney General Letitia James today, leading a multistate coalition, filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s unlawful final rule redefining the "waters of the United States" under the Clean Water Act. The final rule continues the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) effort to weaken water quality protections under the Clean Water Act and to narrow the definition of “waters of the United States.” The new rule removes protections for all ephemeral streams, many wetlands, and other waters that were previously covered under the Act. In the lawsuit, the coalition argues that EPA’s rule directly conflicts with the text of the Clean Water Act, Supreme Court precedent, and the EPA’s own scientific findings.
