The $5 billion-a-year program will cost most drivers less than $10 a month and comes with strict new accountability provisions to ensure funds can only be spent on transportation.

Measure B Deleted From Ballot Says Calaveras County Registrar Of Voters

San Andreas – March 28, 2017 – The Registrar of Voters, Rebecca Turner, received a court order from the Calaveras County Superior Court regarding Case No 17CV42233. The ruling orders the Registrar of Voters to delete Measure B from the ballot. It was ruled the language of Measure B failed to substantially comply with. Election Code section 9124. Ballots containing only Measure B will not be mailed. Votes for or against Measure B will not be counted
The Special Election for the following Special Districts will proceed: Saddle Creek Community Services District – Measure A, Copperopolis Fire Protection District – Measure C, Copper Cove Rocky Road Community Services District – Measure D. New California Law Puts Charge In Lead-Acid Battery Sales

Sacramento,CA...Beginning April 1, 2017, sales of lead-acid batteries will be subject to two $1 fees. Manufacturers will pay a $1 fee for every lead-acid battery sold to a retailer, wholesaler, distributor, or other person for retail sale in California. Consumers will pay a $1 fee on each purchase of a replacement lead-acid battery.

San Andreas, CA...I have been repeatedly asked about Marijuana and the safety of Calaveras citizens. Last year the voters of California chose to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana and to allow the small scale cultivation of marijuana. In addition, marijuana cultivation has now become a land use issue based upon decisions by the voters and the Board of Supervisors. In 2016, the previous Calaveras County Board of Supervisors chose to allow large commercial cultivation inside of residential areas of Calaveras County through an “Urgency Ordinance.”

The Calaveras County Board Of Supervisors is holding a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 28th at 8:00 am. On the agenda is the adoption of a resolution continuing a local state of emergency for the removal of hazardous trees caused by the Butte Fire with the imminent threat of severe winter weather.
