President Biden on the September Jobs Report

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/08/2021 06:08 PM
Washington, DC...Hello, folks. Good afternoon, everyone. Today, for the first time since March of 2020, the American unemployment rate is below 5 percent. In just eight months since I became President, in the midst of a grave public health and economic crisis, the unemployment rate is now down below 5 percent — at 4.8 percent. Let me just repeat that: Today’s report has the unemployment rate down to 4.8 percent, a significant improvement from when I took office and a sign that our recovery is moving forward even in the face of a COVID pandemic.

Bears Ears National Monument Restored

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/08/2021 11:10 PM
Washington, DC...Today, President Joseph Biden issued an Executive Proclamation restoring Bears Ears National Monument, Grand Staircase-Escalante in southeast Utah and Northeast Canyon and Seamounts Marine National Monument on the New England coast. The protection of Bears Ears National Monument has been one of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s top priorities for the past decade. President Biden’s proclamation reverses the former administration’s controversial December 2017 revocation of the Bears Ears national monument designation, meant to protect what is widely considered some of the most culturally significant land in the American Southwest. The revocation removed nearly 85% of the monument, approximately 1.35 million acres of land.

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/07/2021 11:59 PM
Washington, DC...During the Trump Administration, Republicans passed one of the biggest tax cuts in American history and the greatest regulatory relief ever. Before the lockdown left took a wrecking ball to our economy, Americans were prospering with the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years – the lowest poverty rate in 60 years – and the fastest wage growth in 40 years. For the first time in decades, the income gap was narrowing.
