Posted by: thepinetree on 11/21/2020 11:55 AM
Redding, CA...The Trump Administration today released the Shasta Lake Water Resources Investigation Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement to increase water storage capacity in the Shasta Lake reservoir by 634,000 acre-feet, or more than 200 billion gallons. This is enough water to support more than 6 million Californians annually. “President Trump has made investing in our existing infrastructure a top priority. Raising Shasta Dam is one of the smartest and most cost-effective opportunities we have before us,” said Commissioner Brenda Burman. “Shasta Dam sits at the head of California’s largest water system—the Central Valley Project. Not only will the project benefit farms, communities and the environment, it will provide ample opportunities for smarter water management.”

Covid Update from Vice President Pence and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force

Posted by: News_Desk on 11/20/2020 11:39 AM
Washington, DC...Well, good afternoon. We just completed our second meeting this week with members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. And we’ve continued — we’ve continued to be on the same mission we’ve been on throughout the course of this year, and that is to save American lives and to work every day toward that day that we put the coronavirus in the past. I’m joined today, and you’ll hear in a few moments, from members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, including those that are leading the effort of distribution of vaccinations under Operation Warp Speed. And I think you will be as impressed as I was at FEMA earlier today when I heard the detailed plans for the virtually immediate distribution of vaccines when they become approved and available to the American people.

Washington, DC...A Joint Statement..."We, the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, and the United States Secretary of State, reiterate our serious concern regarding China’s imposition of new rules to disqualify elected legislators in Hong Kong. Following the imposition of the National Security Law and postponement of September’s Legislative Council elections, this decision further undermines Hong Kong’s high degree of autonomy and rights and freedoms.

The Foundation of Democracy is the Integrity of the Vote ~ Rep. Tom McClintock

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/19/2020 10:27 AM
Washington, DC... The nature of democracy is that in every election there is always a winner and a loser. The success of democracy depends on the loser believing the vote was fair and accepting the result. The vote is not the foundation of our democracy – the integrity of the vote is its foundation.
