Although some malicious applications of synthetic biology may not seem plausible right now, they could become achievable with future advances.

Remarks on the UN Human Rights Council From Mike Pompeo & Nikki Haley

Washington, DC...Good afternoon. The Trump administration is committed to protecting and promoting the God-given dignity and freedom of every human being. Every individual has rights that are inherent and inviolable. They are given by God, and not by government. Because of that, no government must take them away. For decades, the United States has led global efforts to promote human rights, often through multilateral institutions. While we have seen improvements in certain human rights situations, for far too long we have waited while that progress comes too slowly or in some cases never comes. Too many commitments have gone unfulfilled.

Washington, DC...Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you very much. This is an incredible time for our country. I would say that our economy — and many of you know that very well — is doing better than it ever has done. Our employment numbers are the best that they’ve been, perhaps ever, but certainly in recorded history. Reports just came out — best in 44 years. Black unemployment is the lowest level in history. Hispanic unemployment, lowest level in history. Women unemployment, lowest level in 21 years. It started at 19, went up to 20; now it’s up to 21. Very soon it’s going to be in history.

Murphys, CA...Having been involved in Calaveras County government for many years, I am constantly impressed with how much the people in District 3 care about our community. The 278 men and women who publicly endorsed my campaign represent a cross section of people who make this district the wonderful place that it is. The Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who supported me are more concerned with achievements than party labels.

Brooks Koepka, who won last year at Erin Hills by shooting 16 under par – finished 17 strokes higher at Shinnecock Hills, but a final-round 68 on Sunday was good enough for a one-stroke victory over Tommy Fleetwood.
