Sacramento, CA...Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement after a California Superior Court Judge issued a tentative ruling declaring Governor Newsom has violated the Constitution. The ruling is in response to a lawsuit filed by Republican lawmakers Kevin Kiley and James Gallagher which challenged Governor Newsom’s ‘one-man rule’ and abuse of power. The ruling states that there is good cause for a permanent injunction restraining the Governor from issuing any more unconstitutional orders. Media can click here to read the ruling.

Gross Domestic Product, Soars 33% in Third Quarter 2020 Advance Estimate

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/29/2020 08:57 AM
Suitland, MD...Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 33.1 percent in the third quarter of 2020 (table 1), according to the "advance" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the second quarter, real GDP decreased 31.4 percent.  The increase in third quarter GDP reflected continued efforts to reopen businesses and resume activities that were postponed or restricted due to COVID-19. The full economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic cannot be quantified in the GDP estimate for the third quarter of 2020 because the impacts are generally embedded in source data and cannot be separately identified. For more information, see the Technical Note.
