Covid Update from Vice President Pence and Members of the Coronavirus Task Force

Posted by: News_Desk on 11/20/2020 11:39 AM
Washington, DC...Well, good afternoon. We just completed our second meeting this week with members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. And we’ve continued — we’ve continued to be on the same mission we’ve been on throughout the course of this year, and that is to save American lives and to work every day toward that day that we put the coronavirus in the past. I’m joined today, and you’ll hear in a few moments, from members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, including those that are leading the effort of distribution of vaccinations under Operation Warp Speed. And I think you will be as impressed as I was at FEMA earlier today when I heard the detailed plans for the virtually immediate distribution of vaccines when they become approved and available to the American people.

United States of America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom on China's Continued Actions in Hong Kong

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/19/2020 07:46 AM
Washington, DC...A Joint Statement..."We, the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, and the United States Secretary of State, reiterate our serious concern regarding China’s imposition of new rules to disqualify elected legislators in Hong Kong. Following the imposition of the National Security Law and postponement of September’s Legislative Council elections, this decision further undermines Hong Kong’s high degree of autonomy and rights and freedoms.

The Foundation of Democracy is the Integrity of the Vote ~ Rep. Tom McClintock

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/19/2020 10:27 AM
Washington, DC... The nature of democracy is that in every election there is always a winner and a loser. The success of democracy depends on the loser believing the vote was fair and accepting the result. The vote is not the foundation of our democracy – the integrity of the vote is its foundation.

Presidential Message on Antibiotic Awareness Week 2020

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/19/2020 02:32 PM
Washington, DC...When safely and appropriately prescribed, antibiotics are critical tools used to save lives in the United States and around the world. During Antibiotic Awareness Week, we reaffirm our commitment to responsible antibiotic stewardship and acknowledge the contributions of American medical professionals. Antibiotics play a powerful role in modern medicine. They are instrumental in treating countless Americans with serious bacterial infections and preventing infection among others who are at-risk. Over the years, however, antibiotics have been overprescribed and overused. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at least 47 million antibiotic prescriptions are written needlessly every year. This practice can lead to harmful side effects for patients from these drugs and an overall decrease in long-term effectiveness of antibiotics with the potential to drive the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
