Avery, CA....The Vallecito Union School District will hold their Regular monthly meeting on Wednesday November 17th. They will start with a Closed Session at 4:30pm, then begin their Open Session at 5:30pm. After the meeting their will be a Special Meeting to Approve creation of a Temporary 3 hr. Mountain Melody, Women’s Chorus of the Sierra Foothills, is pleased to announce their appearance at the Bear Valley Music Festival, appearing before for Boyz Nite Out on August 12. Steve Edwards passed away on April 14, 2009 from brain cancer. He was 55. surrounded by the love of his family and friends at his passing. He was
He had many adventures in his life. After growing up in Garden Grove, CA, he served in the Army, spending time in Europe. After he was discharged from the Army, Steve found his true love, the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He worked on the Spicer Dam Project and worked for many years at the Mount Reba Ski Resort. He worked for the Vallecito Union School District since the mid 1990s in many different capacities.....

Lifetime Avery Resident, Marcelle Avery, Has Passed Away

Marcelle Avery passed away on Sunday April 5, 2009 at the age of 97 years old. She was born on February 18, 1912 to Morton and Louise Avery. She was raised at the Avery Hotel, which her parents operated during her childhood. She attended Avery Elementary School. Marcelle had an active childhood and was especially fond of horses, as she owned her first horse at the age of eight. She enjoyed riding her horse with friends throughout the Avery and Sheep Ranch Area. Due to the fact that there was no daily....

With the first quarter completed, many parents and students were thrilled to be invited to the First Quarter Honor Students’ Celebration, at which students were recognized for their excellent first quarter academic performance. The celebration was held last Wednesday at the AMS Gym from 6:30-8pm. If students achieved a 3.0 GPA or better, they received a certificate......

Calaveras County, CA...Red Apple Ranch, the new "Green" Subdivision on Hwy 4 in Murphys, held their Grand Opening a couple of weeks ago, and will continue to be open every weekend from 10am~4pm. We had the pleasure to sit down with the developers last week and were impressed with what they would like to accomplish. Each of their model homes has integrated solar in the roof, radiant floors This is a cutting edge & great looking way to make a green home esthetically pleasing. Vallecito Union School District Adds "Special Meeting" to Their Regular Scheduled Meeting on Wednesday Afternoon

Arnold, CA....VUSD Will hold their regular scheduled Board of Trustees Meeting on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:00pm with a Closed Session, then at 530pm, an Open Public Session. They have also added a Special Meeting to follow the Regular Meeting to discuss Modification of Bilingual Instructional Aide position from 4.5 hours per day to 3.5 hours per day. On the Regular Agenda The Board will be Appointing a "Peace Poster" Teacher, modifying the 6th Grade Title I position, Appointing a School Secretary and a Computer Tech. They will also be accepting the resignation of the 2007-08 GATE Coordinator. Full agendas are enclosed for your viewing pleasure....
