February 4, 2012 Calaveras County Fairgrounds (aka Frogtown) Angels Camp, CA...Saturday night it seemed the whole population of Calaveras County turned out for the annual Calaveras County Junior Livestock Boosters dinner and dance. The boys in the cookin' room started smoking meat early, as a huge crowd was expected to come with both their families and their appetites....

Angels Camp, Calif.–Applications to enter and compete in the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant are now available at the Fairgrounds administration office or at frogtown.org. The program seeks versatile young women who are intelligent, articulate, charming, talented, sincere and healthy in mind and body with warm, outgoing personalities. Miss Calaveras serves as a roll model for young women in our community...

Frogtown, USA...Since there is no pressing business to conduct, the regular Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2011 is canceled. The January meeting will be held on January 18, 2012 at 6 pm at Camps Restaurant. Two items of interest on the agenda will be (1) nominations for two vacant Board positions and (2) a discussion about the RFP for the Alcohol Concession at the Fairgrounds.

Angels Camp, CA....The 39th District Agricultural Association is seeking a partner to assist in the production of the 2012 Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 17-20. The Fair includes, but is not limited to, the exhibits programs (i.e. junior livestock, still exhibits, professional art, wine competition, etc.), entertainment, food & beverage, alcohol management, security & law enforcement, gate & admission operations, maintenance and custodial services and all other aspects to produce the annual fair. The operator will provide trained management, staff and volunteers to accomplish the task. ....
