Frogtown, USA.....The first big question for this year's Frog Jump was answered just minutes ago as the annual Saddle Queen competition was concluded. Ashley Gilmore, Jessica Conley, Melayna Campbell, Holly Zeller, Natalie Harp, and Samantha Cobb have all worked diligently over the last few months to prepare themselves for today. It's not just a beauty pageant on horseback...these young women had to work hard to prove that they not only could be poised and friendly on the back of a horse, but also that they could control that horse and make it really perform. So they did.....

Frogtown, USA....This year's Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is officially dedicated to the Rolleri family. Rusty and the whole clan turned out for the reading of an official proclamation by the State of California, and to cut the ribbon officially opening the fair. Congratulations to the Rolleri family, and thanks from ThePineTree.net are added to those of the entire county for all the Rolleri clan have done, and continue to do, for our community....

Frogtown, USA.....The world-renowned Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee has a rich heritage dating back to the 1800's. In the early Gold Mining Days, the Mother Lode Country was very prosperous. It attracted many industrious individuals looking for adventure. One such individual was Samuel Clemens who regularly made the trip from San Francisco to a small mountain cabin near Angels Camp. It was during one of Mr. Clemens' trips that he heard a tale that inspired his first published work, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County". The story records the antics of a .....

Angels Camp, CA.... Exciting News from Frogtown, Special Carnival deal…Until opening day May 19, exhibitors can purchase a 4 day total access, unlimited ride wristband for only $55. This is a $25 savings. The box office is open this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Frogtown, USA...The Calaveras Visitors Bureau's Annual Discover Calaveras Series started off it's 2011 run last night at the Ranch House at Frogtown. The attendees were given a preview of this years "Pirates of the Carrots and Beans" themed Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. Fair Marketing Director Lauri Gianini gave a great presentation hitting the high points of what should be a great fair. Frogtown is gorgeous this year and the grounds look better than ever. The fair made a renewed effort to engage the local community a couple of years ago and it has really paid off. One big dividend is the "Friends of the Fair" community group that has been a driving force in improvements like the Ranch House that provides a new meeting and entertainment venue and the new entry sign on Hwy 49 that improves the curb appeal of Frogtown.

Fruity Cloud Salad
1 can crushed pineapple (undrained)
1 box instant lemon pudding (sugar free)
mix these 2 ingredients together well and then stir in the following:
1/2 can mandarin oranges (drained well)
1/2 c frozen sliced strawberries (thawed and drained)
1 carton of cool whip (thawed) (sugar free or lite)
1 1/2 c mini marshmallows....
