Frogtown, USA....The hillside next to the arena was packed last night as an action packed evening of extreme sports entertainment got under way. The night started with high flying and back flipping motocross riders Jeff Griffin and Garret Ahls took to the air before the excited crowd. ...

Frogtown, CA.....Talent, gowns, beautiful young women...cheers and tears...last night had it all. If you were not able to be there we've posted the streaming video...and here are a few choice shots of the ladies. They all did a great job, and every one is a tribute to our community and to their families. ...

Frogtown, USA...The time when the nations and worlds eyes briefly turn to Calaveras County is in full swing. Great weather and happy crowds are marking this year's run. We took some time to wander about the grounds, check out the animals and exhibits and people that make up the marque event of the year hear locally. With it's roots in the Gold Rush era the fair and frog jump is not only the longest running local event it is also one of the longest running events on the west coast.

Frogtown, USA.....Seven beautiful and very talented young women gave it their all tonight, after weeks of preparation, as the 2011 Miss Calaveras Pageant was held at Frogtown on the main stage. Absolutely ever seat was filled, each candidate had their own screaming and cheering section, and even the stage crew got cheers throughout the night. If you were not able to catch the streaming video, you may not have heard the news...the new court for 2011 Miss Calaveras.....

Angels Camp, CA...The 2011 Frog Jump Youth Parade is in the books. It was a doozy! It ran over 40 minutes in length as float after float paraded past a hopping, historic and sunny downtown Angels Camp. We will also have full video of the parade up soon but for now we have over 200 photos ready for your browsing enjoyment. These are the raw shots and will be doing some editing for the final slide show. Enjoy and head on out to the fair....

Frogtown, USA.....The first big question for this year's Frog Jump was answered just minutes ago as the annual Saddle Queen competition was concluded. Ashley Gilmore, Jessica Conley, Melayna Campbell, Holly Zeller, Natalie Harp, and Samantha Cobb have all worked diligently over the last few months to prepare themselves for today. It's not just a beauty pageant on horseback...these young women had to work hard to prove that they not only could be poised and friendly on the back of a horse, but also that they could control that horse and make it really perform. So they did.....

Frogtown, USA....This year's Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is officially dedicated to the Rolleri family. Rusty and the whole clan turned out for the reading of an official proclamation by the State of California, and to cut the ribbon officially opening the fair. Congratulations to the Rolleri family, and thanks from ThePineTree.net are added to those of the entire county for all the Rolleri clan have done, and continue to do, for our community....

Frogtown, USA.....The world-renowned Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee has a rich heritage dating back to the 1800's. In the early Gold Mining Days, the Mother Lode Country was very prosperous. It attracted many industrious individuals looking for adventure. One such individual was Samuel Clemens who regularly made the trip from San Francisco to a small mountain cabin near Angels Camp. It was during one of Mr. Clemens' trips that he heard a tale that inspired his first published work, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County". The story records the antics of a .....
