Frogtown, CA....State lawmakers swap budget woes for frog pros for the Capitol Frog Jump on Tuesday, May 4th at Noon on the East Lawn of the State Capitol. Lawmakers will shift attention from budget woes to frog pros at the annual State Capitol Frog Jump on May 4. Frogtown, CA...Media Night for those of us in the local media who cover The Calaveras County Faire & Frog Jumping Jubilee is the true start of Fair Season. It was an honor to be invited to attend this celebration gala of all things Frog Jump related. There were awards to sponsors, fair board members, friends of the fair and other community members who keep the local institution running year after year. It is also an opportunity for all of the Saddle Queen & Miss Calaveras contestants to display their public speaking skills and poise. Mascots were featured, Mark Twain's likeness took various forms and more...

The Celebrated Frogs of Calaveras County launch their annual promotional tour this weekend. Every year the amphibians hit the road to build excitement for the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. This year’s event is May 13-16 at Frogtown in Angels Camp. Accompanying the frogs on their promotional tour are the Calaveras Frog Wranglers, a group of volunteers dedicated to the history and community pride reflected in the 82-year-old Jumping Frog Jubilee....

The KidZone is offering Calaveras County youngsters a chance to be a part of the this year’s festivities with the first Tom and Becky Costume Contest, happening on Thursday, May 13th, at 1:00 pm on the KidZone stage......

Altaville, CA....The Junior Miss Calaveras Pageant and Junior Frog Jump will be held concurrently on Saturday, May 8 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Altaville Melones Fire Department in Angels Camp. Twelve Applicants to Vie for Jr. Miss Calaveras County
The Junior Miss Calaveras competition is open to 8th grade girls in Calaveras county. The contestants are judged on beauty, personality, pleasantness and ticket sales by a panel of judges. The winner will be announced during the Junior Frog jump and she will be presented at the Calaveras County Fair the next week....

The all-free, all-fun KidZone is returning to the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee for the second year, running Thursday May 13th through Sunday May 16th. Combining arts, education, fun, games and frogs, the KidZone was a hit with last year’s fair attendees, and this year it promises to bring a whole new level of entertainment to the Calaveras County Fair.....

| Angels Camp, CA....With excitement building for the May 13-16, 2010 Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, residents should take note of the following entry deadlines. All Livestock, Horse Show, Wine, Junior and Adult entries are due on Saturday April 17, the fair office will be open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.“If you drew it, grew it or sewed it youth entry forms are due with the actual entry on May 4 & 5. There are openings for the Calaveras Idol Competition. The entry deadline is April 30. The Ropin’ & Wranglin’ events will be open to competitors until the individual event is full.... |

Frogtown, USA....The young ladies who are running for Miss Calaveras or Saddle Queen will be joining Miss Calaveras 2009, Kayla Smith and, Saddle Queen 2009, Catheryn Gulizia, and their respective courts as the featured guests at this years Coronation Ball to be held on associated with the Fair. The Angels-Murphys Rotary, long a dedicated sponsor of the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant, will again be manning the no-host bar. The evening will include a buffet dinner catered by the Angels Mercantile. ...
