Frogtown, CA...Studio 4 Dance Theatre Ballerinas, Krinkles the Clown, and Mountain Mischief Jugglers perform on Sunday, November 4th at the 15th Annual Soroptimist Teddy Bear Tea! Santa and Mrs. Claus, Face Painters, Margo & Friends and the Giant Teddy Bear will all be on hand to entertain guests as they enjoy a traditional high tea at Frog Town in Angels Camp. Frogtown, CA... Matt Ininarelli , owner of "The Barrel of Monkeez" which is currently being put together at at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds, reported the theft of their sign from the front of the building and some vandalism. It may seem like a harmless bit of fun for someone, but considering the amount of effort and money being spent to do something worthwhile for the community, it is something that should not have happened. With budget being tight, it is up to us as a community to be vigilant. If someone has seen this sign floating around in a shed, or car or someones yard, and they need to report it, plain and simple...

Frog Jump at the Centennial |

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee will be hosting a Frog Jump as part of the Angels Camp Centennial Celebration. The Frog Jump will be located behind the Visitor’s bureau. The Frog Wranglers will be on hand and look for Ribbit the Fair’s mascot. The top three jumps will be given the opportunity to compete in the International Frog Jump finals on May 19, 2013. The cost to jump a frog is $5. Every frog jumper will win a prize. You can also find out more about the Friends of the Calaveras County Fair at the Fair’s booth. Jump into action and join the festivities. Fair Board honors Calaveras Frog Team at Centennial |

Angels Camp, Calif. 9/25/2012 The Calaveras Frog Team was formed in 1981 by John Kitchell and Mike Nash. Eventually the team grew to include John’s wife Laura, Mike’s wife Shana, John’s brother Joe and Mike and Brenda Ziehlke. The newly formed team was made up of Calaveras natives who grew up with the Frog Jump. The team caught frogs in local ponds brought them to the jumps and competed. The Calaveras Frog Team was not in the grand finals until 1990. After honing their skills the Calaveras Frog Team became a force to be reckoned with, taking tops honors annually and winning the International Frog Jump in, 2005 –Joe Kitchell, 2006-Mike Nash and 2012- Laura Kitchell...

Frogtown, CA...What has become one of the County's premier events, "Taste of Calaveras" is back and larger for 2012. Having outgrown Dove Hill Ranch, Taste of Calaveras is moving to the grounds of Frogtown this year. Setup is underway now and runs from 11am until 3pm.
