Grand Opening for Barrel of Monkeez Tomorrow Night |

Angels Camp, CA...Barrel of Monkeez, barrels of fun, is tomorrow evening, Thursday, 12/13, ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. at the Tom Sawyer building, IN the Fair grounds - access via Gun Club Rd (or the Hwy 49 south entrance between Angels RV Resort and Whittle Rd. at Glory Hole Sports). Go through the parking lot, through the big white gate with the "Barrel of Monkeez" sign, then go straight all the way to the very last building. It will be well-lit, you can't miss it. (but call me if you get lost, 209-768-0359)

Santa's Express Dinner & Dance at Frogtown a Big Success! Updated Over $15,000 Raised!! |

Frogtown, CA...Mark Twain Hall was filled for the annual Santa's Express Dinner & Dance on Saturday Night. Over $15,000 was raised and hundreds of toys were collected. Donated Toys, Live Auctions, Silent Auctions, Bake Sales and many more opportunities created donating opportunities. All those who worked hours and hours hours organizing and fundraising should be very proud of their efforts. Because of them lots of local families will have a great Christmas!!

Calaveras FFA Takes Officer Division at Sectionals |

Frogtown, USA...On Thursday, the Fairgrounds along with Calaveras High School hosted the sectional FFA opening and closing ceremony competition. Fourteen schools from the section competed. There were 58 teams total in the competition. Calaveras High School FFA won the officer division and Tracy High School won the open division....

Sac-Joaquin Cross Country Sub-Section Meet At Frogtown |

Frogtown, USA...Sac-Joaquin Cross Country Sub-Section Meet At Frogtown on Saturday drew over 100 teams to race on a course that started and finished on the Frogtown grounds and traversed the hills of the Tryon Ranch. Over 60 School bus loads of kids and so many cars they were parked along the road all the way out to Distinctive Metals along Gun Club Road. It looked like one of the busiest fair days and they were all there to race their best on the famous Frogtown Cross Country Course. Sonora's Steven Grolle sped to a 6th place Varsity Men's finish. Bret Harte's speedy junior Tristan Boblet raced to 79th. The Varsity Men's Field was 798 Runners Strong!!

Frogtown, CA...Studio 4 Dance Theatre Ballerinas, Krinkles the Clown, and Mountain Mischief Jugglers perform on Sunday, November 4th at the 15th Annual Soroptimist Teddy Bear Tea! Santa and Mrs. Claus, Face Painters, Margo & Friends and the Giant Teddy Bear will all be on hand to entertain guests as they enjoy a traditional high tea at Frog Town in Angels Camp. Frogtown, CA... Matt Ininarelli , owner of "The Barrel of Monkeez" which is currently being put together at at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds, reported the theft of their sign from the front of the building and some vandalism. It may seem like a harmless bit of fun for someone, but considering the amount of effort and money being spent to do something worthwhile for the community, it is something that should not have happened. With budget being tight, it is up to us as a community to be vigilant. If someone has seen this sign floating around in a shed, or car or someones yard, and they need to report it, plain and simple...
