Punxsutawney Phil & Rosie the Ribbiter Are Now an Item. |

Frogtown, USA.... Yesterday on Gobblers Knob, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. The furry prognosticator glimpsed his shadow which means winter weather thankfully will be around awhile. Here locally we hope for many wet weeks as Rosie needs full ponds for training. What didn't make the national news yesterday is that Punxsutawney Phil and our own Rosie the Ribbiter have a budding marketing romance. Recently an Ambassador delegation led by Mechanicsburg, PA resident John Freidhoff stopped by Frogtown to explore cross promotional opportunities and see if there was a possibility of a mutually beneficial relationship between the furry, pudgy Phil and the athletic, sleek, leggy Rosie. They are both animal celebrities with nationally known events, fame and legions of loyal followers...
 
John Freidhoff had a nice conversation with Fair CEO Laurie Giannini and Director Kathy Campbell and he provided some fun and interesting background on their event. Video is below...

Frog Jump takes Flight Again |

Angels Camp, CA … For the second time this month, the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee has leaped across the wild blue yonder. The Frog Jump was named one of the “Strangest Things to Do” in 2014 by United Airline’s Hemispheres magazine. Jumping on board is Southwest’s Spirit magazine naming the Frog Jump one of “America’s Oddest Sports”.

Frogtown, USA...Cost-saving incentives encourage local vendors to jump in and be part of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The May 15-18 event provides great commercial opportunities with discounts up to 20 percent for local companies. Non-profit and commercial vendors can choose outside exhibit areas at Frogtown or be located indoors in Mark Twain Hall or the Floriculture building. Rental rates range from $200 for crafters with handmade items to $1,100 for prime commercial space....

Angels Camp, CA...2014 Mother Lode Bridal Faire is fast approaching. On Sunday, January 19th from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the Calaveras County Fair Grounds the fun will begin. In previous years we have had excellent attendance and participation. We have been advertising the event in the ThePineTree.net, Calaveras Enterprise, the Sierra Lodestar, Real Weddings Magazine, Red Bow Weddings-Every Brides Guide, Gold Country Weddings and more. We would love to welcome new vendors and of course our returning vendors! We are pleased to announce the Friends of the Fair's First Ever Poker Tournament and Dinner. It will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Jackson Rancheria. Jackson Rancheria offered to host the tournament as a fundraiser for Friends of the Fair and has been nice enough to handle all of the details for the Tournament....
