Another Successful Fair & Frog Jump Jubilee!! Livestock Auction Brings In Over $500,000

Frogtown, USA...A bit of a summary on this year's Fair & Frog Jump "Thanks to everyone who came out and made our Fair awesome! Here are some of the highlights: Our Frog Jump winner was Morgan Kitchell and her frog, Ribbit This, with a final jump of 20' 2 3/4". The Livestock Auction brought in over $500,000 supporting our local youth and programs. Despite the inclement weather our attendance was at 31,000 with our highest attended day being Sunday. See you at the 2017 Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee and don't forget to KEEP CALM AND FROG ON!"

Frogtown, CA...Sunday is jumpin' with things to do! 9AM - Junior Livestock Auction down in Tower Pavilion and Swine Ring, come on down and support our local youth! 10AM - Booths and buildings open up, Barrel of Monkeez opens, Barnyard Adventures opens 12PM - Both Carnivals open up, Best of Calaveras performs out on the Lawn Stage, Cole Porter is rockin' at the Ranch House 2PM - Kurt Gravenhorst performs a rendition of Mark Twain's celebrated tale on the Main Stage 3PM - The FINALS of the International Frog Jumping Competition start leapin' on the Main Stage. Come watch if the record is broken after 30 years! 5:30PM - Friends of the Fair $10,000 raffle followed by the Destruction Derby! 8PM - Boys of Summer (an Eagles tribute band) rockin' on the Lawn Stage Check out these other great acts all throughout the day: Doctor Solar Show, Cowgirl Tricks, Gypsy Time Travelers, Something Ridiculous, and of course check out our Frogs!!!

Frogtown, USA....Saturday is jam-packed with events for everyone! 8AM - Gates open, the Frogtown Stampede begins in the arena 9:30AM - The frog jumping begins! 10AM - Youth Talent Show on the Main Stage 12PM - Arm Wrestling Competition on the Lawn Stage 1PM - On-site floral arranging, large animal round-robin in the Barns, 2PM - Grover Anderson is rockin' in the Ranch House, Winemaker of the Day in the Floral Pavilion 6:30PM - Stick Horse race, boot race, AND coin dig all in the Arena! 7PM - A tribute to the Veteran's down in the Arena 7:30PM - CCPRA Rodeo 8PM - Journey Unauthorized fires up the lawn stage Check out these other great acts all throughout the day: Doctor Solar Show, Cowgirl Tricks, Gypsy Time Travelers, Something Ridiculous, and of course check out our Frogs!!!

Frogtown, USA...The 2016 Miss Calaveras Is....Makayla Ruthrauff and her court is Sierra Stackpole & Brighton Hamari. Miss Ruthrauff follows in the royal footsteps of her mother and sister. The Miss Calaveras competition for 2016 was a great show and great group of young ladies. Taking the stage for Miss Calaveras were Macy Breaux (Bret Harte), Hailey Long (Calaveras), Brighton Hamari (Bret Harte), Emma Hampton (Calaveras), Makayla Ruthrauff (Calaveras), and Sierra Stackpole (Calaveras). We have over 100 photos and complete video of the pageant.
2016 Fair & Frog Jump Jubilee Dedicated To The Whittle Family

Frogtown, CA...Each year the Fair board selects a family and or organization to dedicate the annual fair to. This year the Fair has selected the Don and Nancy Whittle family. The Whittles have made significant contributions to the Fair. Nancy serving as the Junior Livestock Secretary for several years. Supporting the Fair as auction buyers and Fair sponsors. Serving on committees, competing in events, exhibiting livestock and in recent years Kent Whittle volunteering his time through his senior project.
Frogtown, CA...The 2016 Calaveras Saddle Queen Is Samantha Smith, First Runner Up is Christa Gillio, Second Runner Up is Melanie Nelson. As one of the hosts said..."The are gorgeous and they can ride horses too" Congratulations to Samantha Smith

Frogtown, USA...Today, Thursday May 19, is the first day of our celebrated County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee and there is something to do for everyone! 8AM - Livestock Shows start at the Tower Pavilion 10AM - Youth Parade through downtown Angels Camp 12PM - California Carnival opens up, Frog Stage opens, Cole Porter Band fires up at the Ranch House 2PM - Saddle Queen competition starts down in the Arena, Winemaker of the Day in the Floral Pavilion, Northern California 8PM - Miss Calaveras competition starts on the Main Stage

Frogtown, USA....The 2016 Calaveras County Fair & Frog Jump Jubilee is underway. In the weeks leading up to the event there are several sanctioned Frog Jumps were people can qualify for the International Frog Jump Finals on Sunday at the fair. Below are photos from the Government Jump in San Andreas and a few photos from the Chamber Mixer at Frogtown last week.
Angels Camp, CA...The Annual Frog Jump Youth Parade was today and we have pictures & video below! The Parade, which is put on by Soroptimist International of Calaveras County and sponsored by Century 21 Sierra Properties always takes place on the first day of the fair. Individuals, pairs, and groups/clubs were all invited to take part in the exciting event.
