Celebrate Murphy's Irish Day Saturday, March 15th

Murphys, CA...Celebrating its Celtic heritage, which dates back to the Gold Rush era, the town of Murphys each year stages one of the most popular events in the Mother Lode. This year’s Murphys Irish Day will be held Saturday, March 15th.
The day will begin with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church on the corner of Church and Algiers Sts. Presented by the Murphys Business Association, the Main St. festivities will start at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. There is no admission charge....

CAL Fire has sent us the official fire release on an escaped debris burn that occurred on March 1st at 1560 Main Street in Murphys. No injuries reported. Damages are estimated at $200. The full fire report is enclosed.....

San Andreas, CA...Outgoing CCWD Board President Bertha Underhill, was designated as the CCWD Outreach Ambassador. She is the "Hostess with the Mostest" always bringing in goodies for all of her peers to munch on so the Board appointed her to this position today. She has even been know to visit CCWD facilities out in the field with cookies as well. After she was appointed as Outreach Ambassador they handed her a bag of candy and a baseball bat...Let's hope she only has to use for the candy!...

Murphys, CA...The Murphys Community Club Hosted the first Town Hall Meeting of the year at the Native Daughters Hall in Murphys tonight. Robert Lawton, County CAO and Feliciano Jiron, Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital President, spoke to a packed house! Both men delivered great speeches. Feliciano focused on the hospitals position in the community and how their focus is to truely make it a facility that everyone feels is theirs. Freshly minted CAO Lawton spoke about the CAO position and what it entails and also spoke about the need for real economic development in the county and a more diverse economy....
