Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Feeney Park in Murphys, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your stuff to sell and buy the things you need in a one stop shopping location. There will be a small fee for booth space, with part of the proceeds to be donated to the park to help continue their operations....

Murphys, CA..A 67 year old Murphys resident was driving his Mini Cooper down Bret Harte Drive in the southbound lane at an unknown rate of speed. Robert Fix, 74 also from Murphys was riding his 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan in the northbound lane at an unknown rate of speed as well. As both parties approached each other the drive of the Mini was inattentive while talking on his cell phone and allowed his car to cross over the yellow lines and struck the oncoming Kawasaki. The motorcyclists sustained major injuries and was flown to Doctors Hospital in Modesto. The accident occurred just after 6pm last night near Fieldstone Drive on Bret Harte...

Dozens of small and not so small oil paintings by artist George Allen Durkee will be offered at The Center for Creativity and Community gallery, 23 W. St. Charles (Hwy 49) in San Andreas on Friday and Saturday, August 5th & 6th, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. “I’m selling ‘em cheap and giving half the profit to The Center,” Durkee said. “My studio is so full I can hardly get in there any more, so I’m selling them off, some for as little as $50.” ....
