Currently we have an opening on the Council for a Public Member and we welcome Your application! The CCOG has a number of transportation planning programs as well as bike and pedestrian programs, all of which are having positive impacts in our community and public participation is needed.....

Instead of the usual single weekend festival, films this year will be screened on four evenings at four different venues. Two evenings will be free. The program begins Saturday, November 1 at the Black Bart Theater with four hours of adventure and environmental films not usually seen in the local theaters....

Murphys, CA...The Hatcher Winery Team dethroned the Cluster Busters team of Ron Lawrence, Alan Hoffman who were striving for a Fourpete. The wet weather did nothing to soak the spirits of the competitors or even the crowds. Murphys was filled to the brim again on Saturday with the Grape Stomp in the park and the Goldrush Street Fair on Main Street. Well over 100 teams stomped and crushed their way to the coveted title...

Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Back in Action Tuesday Morning

San Andreas, CA....The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors are back in action Tuesday morning at 9am. Some of the agenda items being discussed will be a Resolution Item proclaiming October 5th`11th as Emergency Nurses Week in Calaveras County; A Resolution accepting bid and authorizing an agreement with Traffic Limited, Inc., in the amount of $67,000, for stenciling various County Roads; Public Comment this week will include a presentation of a 2008 CSAC Challenge Award and Merit Award to the County of Calaveras; A Presentation by the Mental Health Board with their 2007 Annual Report; At 10:30am, there will be A Public Hearing establishing Proposition 4 FY Appropriations Limits for the County of Calaveras; A Study Session at 1:30pm regarding Discussion/Information regarding a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for for the Sheriff's Office. Zucca Mountain Vineyards, a local Murphys boutique winery, put on another fun filled event for the fall. Zucca’s unique approach to the wine club and it’s events is a refreshing twist on the traditional dinner and music evening. Every event that they stage for their wine club includes a great dinner, music, great wine and always some sort of cultural activity promoting the local area and the arts......
