Murphys, Ca...Days are hotter and the summertime transition is upon us. Our kids have a week left of school, we've already been hitting the pool regularly and frog jump is history. The shop filled with new goodies perfect for this time of year, and we're preparing for fun - Knit Nights for Summer: We're making a change to our weekly gatherings starting in June. Shifting it from Thurs nights to Sundays 2-5pm starting June 8th. Come hang out and work on projects....or just come to hang out, knit then go home and rip back to fix mistakes (which is usually what we all do)...

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office K-9 "Buster" Is On Duty & Ready To Serve |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office would like to introduce “Buster” to the community. Buster is Dutch Sheppard narcotic detection canine. This is the first canine in over 14 years for the department. The Sheriff’s Office recognized the need for a canine however, funding for the program has always been the determining factor. The funding hurdle was overcome largely in part from a partnership with a local non-profit organization Friends of Calaveras Sheriff Office. Friends of the Sheriff organization stepped up and provided 100% funding for the purchase, training, and equipment needed for the program. Friends of the Sheriff have also pledged to continue their support to the program by assisting with monthly and yearly financial needs of the canine team...

San Andreas, CA...Monday, June 2, 2014 at 8:00 AM, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will suspend outdoor burning within State Responsibility Areas of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County. These restrictions will remain in effect until further notice....

Las Vegas, NV. -- TJ Dillashaw shocked the world at the Ulitimate Fighting Championship on Saturday night, knocking out Renan Barao in the final round of their bantamweight title fight inside MGM Grand Garden Arena. The result snaps a 33-fight unbeaten streak for Barao that dated back to April 2005. "I've dreamed it for so long, it's unbelievable," Dillashaw said. Barao was heralded as perhaps the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world ahead of Saturday, but he was hopelessly outclassed against a significant underdog.
