Murphys, CA...Under Calaveras Sheriff Volunteer Sgt. Vic Farina’s supervision, four other Sheriff Volunteers (Sgt. Ralph Carlascio, Louis Chiu, Kathleen Gonzalez and Judy McMurtry) provided traffic control and crowd control during the Murphys Open House last week. The Open House was well attended and the crowd enjoyed the beautiful evening weather in such a joyous public event. ...

The true tale of a little lost sheep who discovers friends are to be found everywhere, “Bummer” is about a beloved Arnold sheep who moved around, and is illustrated by multiple area artists.....

Irish Family Vineyards Played Host to a Fantastic Christmas Party on Saturday Eve to Benefit The Wounded Warrior Project! |

Vallectio, CA....Irish Family Vineyards played host for a wonderful cause Saturday evening at their Annual Christmas Fundraiser! This year's cause was the "Wounded Warrior Project." Guests were asked to donate $10 along with one unwrapped children's gift. Live music was provided by by David Metlidi of DV Music Production. Irish offered their guests wine tastings, festive appetizers, dancing, barrel tastings and mingling and tingling. Owner, Rusell Irish even opened up a very special 2006 Reserve for some of the guests. Father, Jim Irish, did the barrel tasting along with providing some very impressive information on the making of Irish Family Wines and how unique they are to other wines. ....

Murphys, CA...Our little village of Murphys rolled out the holiday red carpet Friday night for their annual Holiday Open House & Parade. The streets were closed from 5-8pm as thousands lined the streets and visited local businesses as our local Christmas season hits high gear. This year's parade had over 40 entrants and all of the Main Street businesses were open late. Live music, caroling, Santa & Mrs. Claus and plenty of elfish behavior made it a special night. The Spice Tin actually had "Chestnut Roasting On An Open Fire" and Jack Frost was pleasantly absent with very comfortable weather for the evening...
