More than 40 of Calaveras County’s most acclaimed winemakers, restaurateurs and plein air artists will converge at Ironstone Vineyards, 1894 Six Mile Road, Murphys, for the Eleventh Annual Taste of Calaveras from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22nd. The event features wine tasting, gourmet samplings, live music by the Bob Eisenmann Jazz Trio, food and wine demonstrations, local artists painting along with artisans on site and a silent auction featuring Calaveras experiences and Calaveras products. Murphys, CA...April 22nd, Saturday from 8-11 Mind Matters is holding its 6th Annual Off the Beaten Path, Walk/Run for Autism Awareness, A Mind Matters Fund Raiser! This is a fun activity for people of all ages. The event starts in beautiful Murphys Park where we will have music, warm-up group exercises, and face-painting for children and those young at heart! You can walk or run [or hop, skip & jump!] for the 5K distance, but, the 10K will be a timed race. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for each age group; female and male. Age groups are 0-19 years, 20-39 years, 40-59 years, and 60 years and over.

Murphys, CA...The Calaveras County Tree Mortality Task Force will be giving away tree seedlings on Sunday April 23, 2017 from 11am to 4pm at Sierra Hill Market in Murphy’s for those affected by “Bark Beetle Killed Trees” within Calaveras County. The seedlings have been generously donated by Sierra Pacific Industries. Species to be given away include: Ponderosa Pine, Sugar Pine, Douglas Fir and Cedar

Murphys, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of Mind Matters at its monthly mixer to be held at the clinic on Thursday, April 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mind Matters, a non-profit clinic located in Murphys, is dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD), and learning disabilities, in achieving their maximum potential. It also strives to promote public understanding by serving as a community resource.
