Murphys, CA...Award winning tenor, Dennis McNeil was 1993 National Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. As a leading tenor at the New York City Opera he was awarded the Richard F. Gold Career Award for his portrayal as ‘Mark’ in their New York Stage Premiere of Michael Tippet’s A Midsummer Marriage. He also holds first place awards from the Southern California Opera Guild and the Victor Fuchs Memorial Competition and was a recipient of the Emily Baratelli Memorial Award from the New York Opera Index. He is a Sullivan Grant Recipient as well as a recipient of a Rex Foundation Grant from the Grateful Dead.

Murphys, CA....It was the big Open House in Murphys on Friday night and guess what?! Snow! We had snow!!! It started late and lasted all night long. It was a big family sleepover at our house. The Kids played out in snow first thing upon waking. Much fun was had by all. Growing up it wasn't often Megan and I had snow for Christmas so this is a rare treat. A bit early but heck...it's now "looking a lot like christmas" and we're in a full-on festive holiday mood. Bring on the elves, cookies, presents and hot cocoa...

Fool Proof Recipe from the Corti Brothers in Sacramento
Preheat your oven to 500 degrees or the highest it will go. Salt and pepper the natural fat covering the roast. Place the roast, rib bone side down, in a roasting pan. Place the roast in the pre-heated oven. After 15 minutes reduce the heat to 350 degrees. Keep the oven door closed while cooking, or heat and smoke will escape. Allow 15 minutes per pound for rare (120°), 20 minutes for medium (135°), and 25 minutes for well done (150°). Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes. Carve and enjoy with any of our awesome local Zinfandels!
