At lower elevations, a chance of rain showers in the morning, then rain showers in the afternoon. At higher elevations, a chance of rain and snow showers in the morning, then rain and snow showers likely in the afternoon. Highs 31 to 46 higher elevations...44 to 52 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 2 inches higher elevations. Snow level 6000 feet. Prevailing southwest winds up to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Tonight Mostly cloudy. At lower elevations, rain showers likely in the evening, then a chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. At higher elevations, rain and snow showers likely in the evening, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Lows 19 to 33 higher elevations...31 to 39 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 3 inches higher elevations. Snow level 6000 feet decreasing to 5000 feet after midnight. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 35 mph.

Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park is announcing modifications to operations at the request of the local health department. As of 3:00 pm today, Friday, March 20, 2020, Yosemite National Park is closed to all park visitors until further notice. This closure will be enforced 24-hours a day/7-days a week and there will be no access permitted to Yosemite National Park.

Arnold, CA...The latest from PG&E..."As of 7 a.m. today (Thursday, March 19), approximately 12,000 PG&E customers are without power due to the storm. These customers are primarily in Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, Sierra, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. We know that some customers have been without power for some time. We understand the hardship of this situation and want those customers to know our crews are working safely and as quickly as possible to restore their power. More than 150 PG&E crews are working to restore power in these regions. Crews continue to work as conditions allow and areas become accessible with more crews on the way.

Arnold, CA...The latest from PG&E...."More than 165 crews working to keep restoring customers in the Sierra Foothills. Many should be back in service by tomorrow. In some areas extensive damage will result in still longer outages. We know that some customers have been without power for some time. Thousands Without Power As PG&E Works To Get Current Flowing After Storm

Dorrington, CA...Some communities in the Sierra Nevada West Slope area were clobbered in the latest storm. PG&E's outage map and system has been having intermittent outages as well. We have had several viewers reach out to us saying PG&E should be doing a bit more to make their sheltering in place cozier. Looks like the generator need continues unabated...

Numbers below as of 2 p.m. Crews continuing to find significant damage to equipment and down trees causing access issues. Working through it all to restore as many customers as possible by the end of the day."
