Brass Knuckles Lead to Unlawful Weapons Charges for Sonora Man |

Sonora, CA...31-year-old Jarred D. Travis of Sonora was arrested for possession of Metal “brass” Knuckles. At approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday, an employee of a business at the 300-block of Stockton Street called to report two males pushing a shopping cart and discarding items into the roadway. The responding officer located one subject matching the description near the entrance to “Camp Hope.” Travis was determined to on active felony probation out of Tuolumne County, and during a probation search, the officer located a set of metal knuckles, a felony in California.

Mi Wuk Village Man Arrested on Various Charges After Traffic Stop |

Sonora, CA...On Thursday afternoon, 30-year-old Jay Christopher Whittle of Mu Wuk was arrested for felony possession of a billy club, being a felon in possession of pepper spray, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for a want out of Angels Camp. At around 3:30 on Thursday, May 14th, one of our officers stopped a 2005 Honda Civic for failing to stop at an intersection on Stewart Street. Whittle, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was determined to be on probation. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located a can of pepper spray, multiple hypodermic needles, an opened container of alcohol, and a billy club, which is a felony in California.

Sonora Man Arrested Again on Arson Charges |

Sonora, CA...39-year-old Tyler B. Schuster was arrested on Arson charges this afternoon. At approximately 3:45 p.m., the Police Department received a transfer from Cal Fire regarding a dumpster fire in the Cross Roads Shopping Center. A description of the responsible party was given to responding officers. One of our officers arrived approximately two minutes later minutes and located Schuster, who matched the description, fleeing from the general area.

Arnold, CA...From the National Weather Service...Snow Showers and Strong Wind for Higher Mountain Elevations into Tuesday. Late season Pacific storm will bring periods of moderate snow and strong wind to the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada and mountains of Western Plumas County into Tuesday. Travel into the mountains should be avoided during this time period as slick roads, lowered visibility, travel delays and chain controls are expected.

Subaru vs Building Supports in Sonora |

Sonora, CA...From the Sonora Police Department..."At around 4:00 p.m. yesterday, a northbound 2016 Subaru Legacy, veered off of the roadway and collided with two brick pillar supports at 99 North Washington Street. Fortunately, neither the 36-year-old male driver from Sonora or any bystanders were injured. The sidewalk has been temporarily closed for safety precautions. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in this collision"
