Sonora, CA...An accident has occurred just off Phoenix Lake Road on Acorn where a homeowner has called in and reported a Chevy Tahoe that has hit several fences and has come to rest in their yard. Please use caution in the area. No injuries have been reported. Bruised ego a foregone conclusion...

Frogtown, CA...The unfortunate event of having the Penn and Graham fires hit our area this week had the upside of the letting us get a glimpse into the the rolling armies that are some of the best in the world at fighting the yearly menace faced throughout California and many of the Western States. While these fires will fall short of some of the long, campaign type battles like the Knight Fire a couple of years ago and the Darby Fire. They did however show us how forces are marshaled and deployed to fight the enemy that doesn't fight with bombs or bullets but can be just as destructive and is just as alive as a human enemy. Fighting these battles requires infantry (Fire Crews), cavalry (Engines and Crews), tanks (Dozers), fighters (Helos), bombers (Tankers) and Generals (Incident Commanders and Air Attack)...

Groveland, CA....Acres: 100 Acres, % Containment: 40 %, Expected Containment: 7-30-2012. Current Situation: Crews progress remains steady as efforts continue to improve existing containment lines around the fire as well as extinguishing hot spots within the fire’s perimeter. However, very steep and rugged terrain remains a cause of concern for firefighter safety. Evacuations: The Evacuation Warning has been lifted for Clements Rd, from Cliffton Way to the end of Clements Rd. Road Closures: None. Cooperating Agencies: USFS, PG&E, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, Groveland Community Services District, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, Tuolumne County Fire. Additional Information: Crews have formulated a plan for rehabilitating areas affected by suppression work. Complete Update Enclosed...

Evacuation Warning Lifted, Graham Incident

San Andreas – As of 2:00 PM, Friday, July 27, 2012, the Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services and the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with CAL FIRE, has lifted the Evacuation Warning for the Clements Road area of Pine Mountain Lake east of Groveland. The Evacuation Warning was issued yesterday, Thursday, July 26, 2012, at approximately 9:00 AM, as a precautionary safety measure for approximately 20 homes toward the end of Clements Road due to increased fire activity on the Graham Incident. The Graham Incident started Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at approximately 3:10 PM, and has burned 100 acres, and is 20% contained. As a reminder residents should remain vigilant and immediately report any smoke or fire seen outside containment lines....

Today resources will continue containment efforts while securing and improve existing lines; however, very steep and rugged terrain remains a cause of concern for firefighter safety. Evacuations: An evacuation warning was issued for Clements Rd, from Cliffton Way to the end of Clements Rd. Road Closures: None. Cooperating Agencies: USFS, PG&E, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, Groveland Community Services District, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, Tuolumne County Fire . Groveland, CA....The Graham Fire showed some life earlier today as it refused to go quitely into the ash heap just yet. An evacuation warning was issued for Clements Rd, from Cliffton Way to the end of Clements Rd. They subsequently calmed it back down. The fire is established in an inaccessible area and continues to smolder and creep in the brush, with a possibility of roll out which will involve handcrews taking direct action on the line, with air support for the most difficult terrain. 514 Souls are currently assigned to the Graham with 3 airtankers, 6 helicopters, 5 water tankers and more. Jamestown, CA...A heavy duty tow truck is on expidite and on the way to move a big rig loaded with 80,000 lbs of asphalt that has broken down on Hwy 108 and Obyrnes Ferry Road. Please use caution and expect delays in the area....
