Jamestown, CA...A full wildland response is on the way to a reported vegetation fire on Preston Lane in the Jamestown area. More to follow... Update as of 3:59pm...The fire is about 5-10 acres at this time and the tankers are starting to drop retardant. Helicopter 404 is setting down now and unloading some firefighters and hooking up their bucket and ready to go to work as the rest of the ground engines go to work as well. Update as of 4:03pm...at latest report the fire is now 10-15 acres... Update as of 4:14pm...CHP has been called to the fire for traffic control and a Fire Prevention Officer has been called to this fire as well... Update as of 4:20pm....Some good news is that tanker 82 is now on a "Load and Hold" at Columbia. What this normally means is that they have turned the corner on a fire but just want to be ready if it flares back up significantly. Update as. Of 4:53pm.. All air units have been released and ground engines and crews are going to take it the rest of the way to controlled. Update as of 5:11pm...They have just called the fire contained. At last update the fire was still in the 10-15 acres range...Great job everyone....this one had structures threatened as well in the early stages...
