Fire Update...Structure Fire off of Parrotts Ferry

Sonora, CA...Crews are working a structure fire off of Parrotts Ferry. Traffic is being affected in the area... Update as of 9:56pm...Just checked in the TCU Command Center and the fire was contained to the flu and was not allowed to spread to the rest of the home. Great job crews!!

Columbia, CA...Crews are working a solo vehicle into a tree on Parrotts Ferry and Sawmill Flat Road. One reporting party said they were following vehicle for 20 minutes and it was all over the roadway before going head on into a tree. Please use caution in the area...

Fire Damages Restaurant in Columbia

Columbia, CA...A fire caused significant damage to a restaurant in Columbia earlier this evening. Fire was confined to the single structure. The Columbia House sustained significant damage. More details to follow in the morning.

Arson Arrest at Columbia City Hotel

Columbia, CA...Yesterday at around 6:30 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the City Hotel in Columbia regarding a man causing a disturbance and lighting something on fire. As they arrived in the area, they saw fire fighters attempting to put out a fire at the Columbia House Restaurant on Main St. Witnesses pointed out 21 year old Daenon Vincent Brewer of Tuolumne City and identified him as the suspect. When Deputies contacted Brewer he appeared to be under the influence....

49 Year Old Fremont Man David Michael Tweedie Loses Life in Accident...Update with Victim's Name

Chinese Camp, CA...On December 29th at approximately 4:05pm a 49 year old Fremont man David Michael Tweedie was driving his 1961 Volkswagen east on Hwy 120 attempting to make a left turn onto Shawmut Road at a high rate of speed. As he traveled onto Shawmut Road he lost control of the VW. The VW overturned on it's right hand side numerous times....

It was decided to grant three $500 Scholarships to local students entering college who meet the criteria as set forth by the Board. Traffic Update...Accidents on Hwy 108 at Leasure and Montezuma. On Hwy 88 as well!

Sonora, CA..Busy traffic afternoon right now Calaveras is clear for the moment but in Tuolumne County a Hummer and a Dodge Ram pickup have gotten together on Hwy 108 and Leisure Drive. Thee is also a multi-vehicle accident near Montezuma Junction in the clearing stages now. In Amador on Hwy 88 crews are working incidents at Fiddletown Silver Lake Road, at the Dew Drop Bypass and at Silver Drive. The roads are extremely slick so lets be careful out there...

Columbia, CA...Ever wondered how you can give back to the community and help one of your local California State Parks at the same time? Become a Columbia State Park docent! A docent is a volunteer who has completed a training program with the park which includes history lectures, park etiquette and rules, costuming guidelines and more. Columbia is in need of museum workers at the information center in the middle of town, teachers at the historic school, planning and organizing special events, costumed interpretation throughout the year and many other jobs! ...
