Posted by: John_Hamilton on 09/23/2013 09:55 PM
Columbia, CA...Grab your sweaters and jackets and join Friends of Columbia State Historic Park as they host the Stories in Stone Cemetery Tour at the historic Columbia Cemetery. This once-a-year evening event will be led by costumed volunteers holding lanterns to light the way. Guests will stop at specific gravesites where stories of those who have lived and died in Columbia will be told by some very convincing characters! Listen to some funny, some sad and some horrendous stories from these people who lived during a different period of time and shaped the town's history. Dolores Ward, tour coordinator, says, "My favorite part of this event is seeing these historical figures come to life through the research and portrayals from our volunteers. To hear the stories of Owen Fallon, Michael Rehm and so many others in Columbia really helps history make sense."
