Jamestown, CA...If you see equipment moving in the Sonora / Jamestown area crews responded to a fire on Rawhide Road. The fire ended up being a fully involved utility trailer. Units on scene called the fire contained quickly..

JAMESTOWN, Calif. -- On Saturday, September 18, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (SHP) will officially celebrate the recent restoration of wooden Caboose #7 with caboose rides, handcar rides, storytelling, live music and more. Caboose #7 was originally built in 1923 and came to Jamestown in 1956. This caboose has appeared in many movies and TV shows, including Back to the Future III, where it was part of the dramatic train jumping scenes. Suffering from dry rot and poor remodeling in the 1980s, Park volunteers spent four years carefully researching and replicating original materials to make the caboose available for a return to train service...

Pinecrest, CA...The Forest Service is continuing to monitor and manage the high elevation, lightning caused "Pinecrest" Fire (remotely located near the Emigrant wilderness, just east of Pinecrest peak). First detected on August 9, 2010, fire spread and fire behavior have been low due to the high moisture content of the live vegetation. The fire is currently estimated at 288 acres in size...

Body Found on Cottonwood Road in Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA...On 08/26/10 Sheriff’s Detectives, with the assistance of cadaver dogs, located human remains buried at an undisclosed location near Cottonwood Rd. An autopsy determined the remains to be female and asphyxiation is listed as the preliminary cause of death. The remains have not been identified and the case is under investigation....

Drug Related Home Invasion Robbery in La Grange

La Grange, CA...On 09/02/10 at approx. 12:51am, Sheriff’s dispatch received a call from Modesto P.D. regarding a home invasion robbery at 2541 Alameda Dr. in La Grange. The victim, Daniel Carter Lutes, 42 yoa, was at a Modesto area hospital receiving medical treatment for various injuries received during the robbery. At approx. 1:56 am Deputy Gempler arrived at Lutes’ residence to find the house empty but noticed signs of a struggle consistent with a violent altercation. Fire Report for Last Nights Don Pedro Area Fire

Don Pedro, CA...CAL-FIRE TCU has released their initial fire report on last nights fire. There were a total of 6 fires along the J-59 area. All involved grass & vegetation and consumed approximately 60 acres and caused just over $11,000 in damage. The cause is still under investigation and the release is enclosed..
