Social Media Threat Against Law Enforcement Leads To Arrest Of Sonora Man

Sonora, CA...On 12/26/14 the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who passed on information related to a threat made by an individual on Social Media. Jamestown, CA...Emergency crews are working an injury accident near Sr120 / Jacksonville Rd that has the westbound lanes blocked. The driver is out of the vehicle and walking around but is injured. Please use caution and expect delays in the area until the incident clears.

Sonora, CA...On 12/15/2014 about 8:35 P.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle for expired registration on Hess Avenue near Mono Way. A driver’s license check revealed the suspect, Cody Collins, was driving on a suspended license. Collins was placed under arrest and his vehicle was searched pursuant to the arrest. Deputies located, a loaded handgun, and 48.4 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle. During a search of Collins person a switchblade knife was found in his pants pocket. ....

Sonora, CA... 4 November 2014, several storage sheds and containers belonging to the City of Sonora were burglarized. Among the items stolen was a large amount of ammunition and firefighting equipment. 10 December 2014, Aaron Jess, 31 of Sonora went to a local gun dealer and attempted to sell some of the stolen ammunition. The gun dealer contacted the police department, and Jess was contacted and detained. Jess was also in the possession of a large amount of methamphetamine, and other items indicating he was selling methamphetamine. Jess was also in possession of a bullet proof vest.
