Pinecrest Beach to Receive an Upgrade |

Pinecrest, CA...The U.S. Forest Service will begin improvements to a highly-visited recreation area on the Summit Ranger District, Stanislaus National Forest (STF), Sept. 29 through Oct. 31. Pinecrest Beach at the Pinecrest Day Use Area is receiving an upgrade that will enhance the beach and lake bed, creating a smoother surface by bringing in Alluvial sands from the Stanislaus River and removing rocks, boulders and tree stumps....

Rape Suspect Arrest in Jamestown |

Jamestone, CA...On Monday, 9/22/14 about 12:30 A.M. the adult female victim contacted the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office to report she had been sexually assaulted at an acquaintance’s residence in the 18000 block of 5th Avenue in Jamestown. The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the incident and a search warrant was served at the residence. The suspect, fifty one year old, Daniel Bartels, was located at the residence and arrested for the sexual assault. A search of the residence was conducted and a small amount of methamphetamine was located as well as a small quantity of small arms ammunition which Bartels is prohibited from possessing due to a prior felony conviction.... |

Major Injuries In Fight After Pool Game At The Office |

Sonora, CA...19 September 2014, at approx. 2:36 am, Officers responded to the area of the Office Bar (155 S. Washington Street) for a report of physical fight that had just ended, with an unconscious victim on the ground. When Officers arrived, they located an unconscious 26 year old male from Wi Wuk. This subject sustained major head trauma and several broken bones in his face as a result from the attack. The victim was flow to a Modesto area hospital for treatment.... |

Groveland, CA....Crews are working a minor injury accident on Cuneo where a dump truck has taken down a pole and the pole and wires are now blocking the roadway....

San Francisco, CA...Restore Hetch Hetchy put out a call to action in a special fundraising appeal to ‘outbid San Francisco’ for the rights to the Hetch Hetchy Valley last month and nearly 200 people responded bidding $63,684 – more than twice what San Francisco pays annually in rent to the National Park Service. The funds will support Restore Hetch Hetchy’s ongoing mission to return the Hetch Hetchy Valley in Yosemite National Park to its natural splendor while continuing to meet the water and power needs of all communities that depend on the Tuolumne River....
